Exterior Painting
Exterior painting that protects the building and lifts the finish
Render, masonry, timber and joinery painted for the weather they actually face — with the preparation agreed before work starts.
Exterior painting for houses and buildings
Exterior painting is about more than a fresh colour. We prepare and decorate outside surfaces so they can stand up to weather, while improving the look of the property from the street.
This is painting and decorating work: filling, priming and coating existing walls, timber and joinery. It is not roofing, structural repair or a specialist coating system unless that has been separately agreed. Access, elevations and the condition of each surface decide what the quotation includes.
What we can help with
Typical exterior painting covers the items below when they are in a suitable condition to decorate.
- Exterior walls, render and masonry
- Doors, window frames and exterior joinery
- Fascias, soffits and painted trims
- Weathered painted surfaces that need bringing back
- Exterior refresh and protective decoration
- Residential properties and appropriate commercial exteriors
Typical elevations and surfaces
Most exterior projects are houses and small commercial buildings where the existing painted or rendered surfaces can be prepared and recoated.
01
Front and rear elevations that have faded, stained or started to break down
02
Timber windows, doors and joinery that still have a sound base for paint
03
Painted masonry or render that needs washing, filling and a suitable exterior system
04
Trims and details that should finish cleanly against the main walls
How an exterior project is planned
01
Condition and access
We assess the elevations, timber, joinery, exposure and how the work can be reached safely.
02
Preparation and coatings
Repairs, filling, priming and exterior finishes are specified for the surfaces that are actually included.
03
Scope you can check
The quotation sets out the elevations, preparation and materials so there is no guesswork about what will be painted.
04
Protect, paint, inspect
Surfaces are protected as needed, coatings are applied, and the finished exterior is checked before we leave.
Why Sean & Mo for exterior work
Outside work fails when preparation is skipped or the scope is left vague. We keep both explicit.
Honest about condition
If a surface is not in a fit state to decorate well, we say so. The quote is based on what we can actually prepare and paint.
Weather-led specification
Primers and finishes are chosen for the existing surface and how exposed it is, not a one-coat approach for every elevation.
The same team standard
Exterior painting sits alongside our interior work, so a property refresh can be planned as one project when that is what you need.

Where we work
We take on exterior painting across Manchester and Greater Manchester, and in Cheshire towns we already list such as Knutsford and Macclesfield. Access and the condition of the building decide whether a project is right for us. See areas we cover.
Ask us about your exterior
Share the elevations, a few photographs if you have them, and what you want improved. We will tell you what we can include and what the work involves.
